Up The Creek 2016 will take place on the last weekend of January in 2016 and will be held a few kilometers outside Swellendam, on the Breede River in the Western Cape, from the 28th to the 30th.
The line-up will include local heavyweights such as Shortstraw, Grassy Spark, Gerald Clark and the Dead Men, The Black CatBones, Albert Frost & Robin Auld! As well as bands like Bye Beneco, Nomadic Orchestra, Al Bairre, and Sannie Fox, along with many other awesome local bands, who will be spread out across three stages over the course of the weekend!
The organisers consider Up The Creek to be “the same as Woodstock, just wetter”, so remember to bring along any form of a flotation device, appropriate swimming attire, some sun block and something to keep your hydration levels up! Like all music festivals, you will have to make sure that you bring a tent along and something to keep you cosy at night, also a mattress would be highly recommended! Although, if you want to rock out in a little more comfort, or travelling as light as possible (because you are flying down from Jozi) then the Heartbreak Motel tented accommodation is for you. Where the seemingly bliss world of pre-pitched tents, hot showers, toilets, buffet breakfast and other luxuries, along side the Breede River seems almost like festival paradise!
Full weekend tickets cost R900 and tickets can be bought from http://utc.nutickets.co.za/UTC2016. Up The Creek have also decided to go back to the 2014 event size and will therefore only be selling 2,700 full weekend tickets, and as of the most recent social media updates from Up The Creek, 50% of the tickets are sold out.
So get your tickets NOW as Up The Creek 2016, promises to be one of the best yet! As we cast our mind back to earlier this year where Up The Creek saw the likes of, Gateway Drugs, Christian Tiger School, Taxi Violence, AKing, Red Huxley and Beatenberg, across the various stages giving knock out performances!
