Glasswing Butterfly is the musical love child of 29-year-old Tunisia based songwriter/musician Hsin Trabelsi. According to the Glasswing Butterfly press pack Hsin resonates with the ethereal sounds of shoegaze, dream pop, the raw energy of indie rock, and the rebellious spirit of punk music.
Up next we have Swiss Multi instrumentalist Daniele Radicci’s project Unknown Vagabond. Unknown Vagabond is an outlet that combines indie, alternative, post-rock, prog rock, and dream pop seamlessly . The sound is a beautiful musical symphonies telling the tales of a mixture of optimism mixed with melancholy. According to Unknown Vagabonds press release: Listeners are invited into a world where each song is a story, told not in words but in waves of sound. It’s an experience akin to wandering through a film set in the landscape of the mind, where every scene is underscored by a soundtrack that feels both eerily familiar and refreshingly unique.
Austrian 4 piece Indie rock outlet At Pavilion. The band consists of front man Mwita Mataro, Kiddy B, and Paul Ali on drums. At Pavilion release their album believe us in 2019 via Las Vages Records and pick up wide spread recognition and praise for the project.
Early in 2023 the group release their latest album The new album Personal Development Deals. According to their press release – crudely translated from its German origin “the album stretches over multiple genres with rock hymns, synth-pop tracks, indie western romance and melodious ballads in its musical and textual diversity to encourage everyone to dance as a tonal support. Because in the pavilion of At Pavilion, everyone should dance, regardless of skin color, gender, age, sexual orientation or origin.
Up next we have legendary South African Rockstars Wonderboom. During their 28 year career WONDERboom have released 9 albums, headlined many major South African festivals and have been nominated for 5 ‘Best Rock Album’ awards in the South African Music Awards.
The band is made up out of Martin Cito Otto – vocals, Martin Schofield – guitar, Wade L Williams – bass and Jonathan Bell – drums.
Well the band is back with a brand new release Miss Demeanour. Miss Demeanour is the first single of their up and coming album, “Hard Mode” co-produced by Matthew Fink.
Cape Townian based Shoegaze/Psych Filthy Hippies. Filthy Hippies is made up out of Andrew Paine – Vocals/Bass/Keys, Mandy Backstrom – Vocals/Guitar, Hans Vuren – Drums. Filthy Hippies formed 2018. With in the first 3 years of originating the trio released three EPs and five album. Filthy Hippies released Animal Farm in 2021 via Mongrel Records.
Andrew and Mandy are also part of Halcyon Bluefish – 80’s new age rock outlet and Andrew is also part of previous The Grind Radio submitters Ethyl Ether.
The band was nice enough to share their album Animal Farm with us for airplay. An boy oh boy I am beyond excited to share with you. The album is such a versatile body of work. From the beautiful serene guitar sounds of I to the New Age/Gothtronic Esc sound of Away and Original State to the obscure dystopian sounds of Sheep and Sin city.
