Matterdoor, a native of Johannesburg’s East Rand, whose journey into the world of music began with a deep-seated love for the beats and basslines of drum and bass. From countless nights on the dancefloor, his passion morphed into an obsession, driving him to perfect his craft with every set. Known to his friends as Kyle Russell, when he steps behind the decks, he transforms into Matterdoor. His hard work and dedication have earned him spots on lineups for events like Donny Basco and friends, Sanctuary, Awakened, Cherch, Konklave, and the renowned Earthdance music festival. For Matterdoor, drum and bass isn’t just a genre—it’s a life-changing journey.
Who is Stoney Maroney:
Stoney Maroney has become a household name in the jozi DnB scene. Known for his style of blending deeper and more introspective selections with the fury and energy of jungle and having been a part of many a rad event over the last 4 years under the Science Frikshun, Addictshun, Cherch and Twilight banners, he now hosts monthly club nights under Amen DnB at Smoking Kills Bar where he and his team push the boundaries of underground drum and bass with their uniquely no frills and all sound attitude.
